The 1994 case against Donald “Don” James Bohana for the murder of Delores “Dee Dee” Jackson is riddled with corruption, incompetence and reasonable doubt.
“Dee Dee” Jackson was the ex-wife of Jackson 5 member, Tito Jackson, and ex-sister-in-law of Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. Jackson family influence, an unqualified part-time coroner, a young prosecutor seeking to make her name, and corruption in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office turned the 1994 accidental drowning of “Dee Dee” Jackson into a homicide.
Based on the information on these pages, there is more than enough reasonable doubt to set Donald J. Bohana free after serving more than 20 years in prison of a 15-to-life sentence—and to clear his name. Now represented pro bono by Thomas Nolan, a partner at Latham and Watkins, one of the world’s most prestigious law firms, Don Bohana continues to work to gain his freedom and prove his innocence.
This case even to this day is riddled with suspicion, corruption, misconduct and malfeasance. The truth has never been told, and the miscarriage of justice involving Donald Bohana continues to this day.
